A Fort Walton Beach man was put behind bars at Santa Rosa County Jail last Friday after Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s deputies were able to track the man down after linking him to two alleged assaults that occurred back in August 2015.
According to the arrest reports, one of those incidents occurred on August 25 on Clay Circle in Gulf Breeze. The report indicated that the suspect, 35-year-old Adam Rogers, was at the Gulf Breeze home that day when he lost his temper and choked someone in the house after he found out his significant other had cheated on him.
The statement from the witness indicated Rogers grabbed the victim by the throat and began to choke them. The victim told law enforcement officers that he/she pushed Rogers back as he attempted to choke them.
Deputies noticed a scab around the victim’s neck, which he/she stated was from the assault.
Following the incident, Rogers fled from the home and the witness said the suspect was homeless.
Because of the allegations from that incident last year, Rogers was slapped with Battery charges and a Sex Offender Violation.
Another incident that involved the suspect occurred on August 28. The incident report on that day indicated that Rogers went to the same home on Clay Circle and hit a man on the head with a hammer and then fled from the residence. The report indicated that after Rogers hit the man on the head he “ran into the woods because (the victim) threatened to call the police” on Rogers because he had outstanding warrants.
Rogers was charged with Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon from that incident.
Authorities were eventually able to track Rogers down and arrested him without incident last Friday. He remains in jail on a hold out of Okaloosa County and has a bond of $30,000.
