Paid advertisement by Stacy Bryan for Santa Rosa County Commissioner District 1

Hello Santa Rosa County Florida Voters. I am excited to introduce myself and family to you as a candidate for the District 1 County Commission Seat.

I have spent most of my life in North Santa Rosa County. My mother’s family, Diamond, is originally from the Jay/Chumuckla area. I attended Jay and Chumuckla Elementary and graduated from Central High School after the consolidation of Chumuckla, Allentown and Munson High Schools. I have very fond memories of growing up in a rural area in a time when neighbors were friends, hard work was rewarded and we had the trust to have access to the school gym for weekend, pickup basketball games.

After graduating high school, I worked in the oil fields in Jay and roofed houses when the oil field work slowed down.
I attended nursing school at Pensacola Junior College, now PSC, and received an Associative of Science in Nursing degree. I worked my way through college, often working the night shift at Sacred Heart ER/Trauma and took my first nursing job in the ER after graduation. My Bachelors of Science in Nursing is from the University of South Alabama.

After working in ER/Trauma units for 10 years and paying back student loans, I graduated from Central Connecticut State University with a Masters in Biology and a specialization in Anesthesia from St. Rapheal’s Nurse Anesthesia Program, now Yale-New Haven Hospital Nurse Anesthesia Program.

Besides obtaining a graduate degree, I met Kate Green in Connecticut (Kate was also pursuing an advance degree in in anesthesia) and convinced her after graduation that marrying me would be just as exciting a change. We have been married for over 17 years and have three children Aidan, 16, Shannon, 14 and Patrick, 12. If you already know me, you know my involvement and love for our children is paramount.

Eight years of my 21 year career in anesthesia was spent as Chief Anesthetist for Fort Walton Beach Medical Center and West Florida Hospital, overseeing multiple aspects of the anesthesia department and working in conjunction with physicians and hospital personnel. I gave up my chief position in 2017 to work for Anesthesia Health Consultants and to start my own business, Timberland Anesthesia. We have grown from managing and staffing 4 sites to 11 sites from Tallahassee to Mobile in 3 years. I currently manage staffing, scheduling, supplies, ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations, as well as personally provide anesthesia on a day to day basis.

My personal life involves giving back to our community through volunteerism and supporting our local schools and athletic programs. We have worked with Food Raising Friends, Life Options Clinic, Sportsmen Givin’ Back, Children’s Health and Wellness of NWFL, Coon Hill Cemetery, the Starfish Project and regularly support Pace High School football, track, wrestling, cheerleading and band. I belong to the Santa Rosa Creek Indian Tribe. Kate and I have been foster parents. We are actively involved with Gulf Coast Gymnastics in Gulf Breeze as we see the value in nutrition and athletics in children. I try to lead by example and include in my routine regular exercise at CrossFit Pace Patriot Pride. I also enjoy hunting, fishing, sailing, Jeep trail riding and can often be found in the garage building furniture.

My heart for public service continues with my candidacy for Santa Rosa County Commissioner, District 1. Santa Rosa County needs a commissioner willing to work for the people of our great county and not special interest. I am someone whose history of service, education and commitment to the community will allow sound decision making, thorough research on the issues and most importantly, inclusion of thoughts and ideas from the citizens of Santa Rosa County.

I hope you will support my candidacy by sharing my message and becoming involved.
