Following beach, event and restaurant closures in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, officials are celebrating plans for Summer 2021 events on Navarre Beach.
“We are thrilled that we can get back to normal,” said Tamara Fountain, who operates Navarre Beach Fishing Pier and Windjammers on the Pier Restaurant with her husband, Ken, an attorney in Navarre.
Fountain has planned to resume free monthly outdoor movies at her Gulf-front venue, starting with a sunset showing of Jaws on Tuesday June 15.
“This is a great tradition that kicks off the season. We hope everyone comes out to enjoy,” Fountain said.
Spectators are encouraged to bring their own beach blankets and lawn chairs and the lower bar at Windjammers by the Pier will be open with beverage and food specials.
Windjammers will also host live music with BT Turner on Sunday and Monday nights plus continue karaoke on Wednesday nights.

Additionally, the Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce will start their annual Tunes by the Dunes Summer Concert Series on Thursday, June 17 at the Sand Crab Pavilion on the east side of the pier parking lot.
At 7 p.m. each Thursday, June 3 to August 12, the chamber hosts the free outdoor music series. Spectators are encouraged to bring their own beach blankets and lawn chairs. Food will be available for purchase.
“Events help tourism by providing guests with options of things to do while immersing themselves into the culture of our destination,” said Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Director Julie Morgan.
