Suspicious persons report leads to drug bust

A Santa Rosa County deputy was dispatched April 29 to the Circle K store located at 3438 Gulf Breeze Parkway for a report of suspicious persons. 

It was reported two females were in the restroom for more than one hour.  The reporting person advised the females appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. 

Upon arrival the females were located inside the store, and the officer reported speaking to one female identified as Sarah Meehan. 

“Ms. Meehan appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and drugs.  I detected the odor of alcohol on her person.  I also observed a mark on her left arm that indicated recent intravenous drug use,” stated the officer in the arrest report, noting he asked Meehan if she had been using any drugs.

The officer conducted a probable cause search after she reportedly admitted having smoked marijuana.

Per the arrest report, a probable cause search of her pouch backpack produced the following:

two baggies of marijuana (68.9 grams);

123 Alprazolam pills;

31  Oxycodone pills;

34  Ectstasy pills;

two baggies of cocaine (5.1 grams);

two baggies of heroin (6.2 grams);

two baggies of methamphetamine (35.7 grams)

and numerous additional items and drug paraphernalia were also located.

 

The arrest report stated the marijuana, methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, and Ecstasy field tested presumptive positive, and the Alprazolam and Oxycodone were identified by markings. 

The officer noted he read Meehan her Miranda rights and transported her to Santa Rosa County Jail where she was booked on the following charges:

A first-degree felony charge of trafficking In methamphetamine (greater than 14 grams) with a $50,000 bond; a first-degree felony charge of trafficking in heroin (greater than 4 grams) with a $50,000 bond; a third-degree felony charge of possession of Cocaine with a $5,000 bond; a third-degree felony charge of possession of marijuana (greater than 20 grams); a third-degree felony charge of possession of controlled substance without a prescription (Oxycodone) with a $5,000 bond; a third-degree felony charge of possession of controlled substance without a prescription (Alprazolam) with a $5,000 bond; and a third-degree felony charge of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription (Ecstasy) with a $5,000 bond.

Her total bond was set at $125,000.

All evidence was entered into property management as evidence, per the report.
