Florida Highway Patrol reports that on May 14, 2024, Jasmine West of Pensacola, Florida was located by the US Marshalls service in Miami, Florida and placed under arrest for an active warrant. West was taken into custody and booked in the Miami Dade Jail awaiting extradition to Escambia County, Florida.

The warrant stemmed from charges for a crash that occurred on Davis Highway on December 30, 2023. West was traveling south on Davis
Highway and entered into the northbound lanes. A vehicle occupied by 4 subjects was traveling northbound as the vehicle driven by West entered into their lane, striking the victim’s vehicle head on. The driver was killed during the crash, and the remaining passengers suffered injuries as a result of the crash.

During the investigation, Traffic Homicide Investigators discovered West was under the influence at the time of the crash. Following the securement of the warrant for DUI Manslaughter, attempts to locate West in Pensacola were met with negative results.

While working with the US Marshalls, it was discovered that West absconded to Miami.

Once extradition is completed, West is facing the following charges in Escambia:
