Yellow River Bridge rehabilitation project starts next week

Posted on October 25, 2019 by Staff reports

Work activities are scheduled to begin the week of Monday, Oct. 28 on State Road 87 southbound over the Yellow River in Santa Rosa County.  The $1.8 million bridge rehabilitation and repair project will include pile jacket installation and joint replacement.

Motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures and traffic shifts.  Vessel traffic will be maintained along the Yellow River during construction.  There will be signage and buoy-type channelization devices directing boaters through the work zone.  The project is anticipated to be complete spring 2020.

All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or re-scheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution when traveling in a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
