Caring and Sharing, a non-profit organization which distributes food, clothing vouchers and gifts to those in need in South Santa Rosa County is preparing for the upcoming holiday season.

Client application for assistance by registration is a must. Dates for interviews to seek assistance are as follows: 2-4 p.m., Saturday, October 14; 2-4 p.m., Sunday, October 15; and 5 – 8 p.m., Monday, October 16.

Interviews will be held at Liberty Church located at 6006 Gulf Breeze Parkway (next to Meredith Lumber on U.S. 98). This is the only interview location. Childcare will not be provided during interviews, so the organization requests that other arrangements be made for children.

Potential clients must live in South Santa Rosa County, Florida, and the service boundaries are from the Okaloosa county line north to the Yellow River and west to Gulf Breeze, including Pensacola Beach and Navarre Beach.

Those needing assistance must bring to their interview the following:

-Proof of Identity; driver’s license, photo ID card, or passport (showing name and birthdate) for applicant and all adults in household, otherwise a birth certificate, custody papers, or other legal document showing name and birthdate for all other household members including children. The organization is longer accepting Social Security cards as proof of identity.

— Proof of residence; rental release or mortgage bill, and most recent utility bill with current address.

— Proof of all household income; paycheck stub, social security, pension, W2 form, TANF, child support, alimony. Current eligibility letter from DCF for food stamps (if applicable)

Applications will not be accepted without the aforementioned documentation.

This year’s Thanksgiving distribution will take place Sunday, November 19 at Oriole Beach Elementary, and Christmas distribution will take place Sunday, December 17 at West Navarre Intermediate (behind Whataburger in Navarre). The distribution locations were swapped from last year to better serve clients, and both distributions are scheduled for 12 noon until 3 p.m.
