Gulf Breeze Police Report: April 25 – May 8, 2017

Tuesday, April 25

At the 1800 block of U.S. Highway 98, Gulf Breeze Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for suspicion of DUI at 1:57 a.m. The traffic stop subsequently led to the arrest of the Pensacola driver on numerous charges. The driver, Kevin Cook, 37, was charged with DUI, Refusal to Submit to a Breathalyzer, Possession of Marijuana (Under 20 Grams) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Wednesday, April 26

There were reportedly 9 vehicle burglaries in the city limits on April 6. An iPad and a computer were taken out of the vehicles.

Thursday, April 27

On Laura Lane, a traffic stop for no headlights led to the arrest of the driver of that vehicle for DUI at 12:12 a.m. The driver, Sean Lussier, 24, of Gulf Breeze was arrested without incident.
Also on Thursday on Laura Lane, police recovered a stolen vehicle. An arrest has been made.
On Joachim Street, there was a report of a stolen trailer.
On Driftwood Drive there was a report of a found iPhone Otter Box.
A traffic stop on two speeding vehicles near the 50 block of Hwy. 98 ultimately led to the arrest of the two drivers for reckless driving. GBPD ultimately apprehended the two drivers, Nathaniel Grandt, 25, of Gulf Breeze and Andrea Bemisderfer, 27, of Pensacola and later booked them into Santa Rosa County Jail.
Also on Thursday, a traffic stop for a seatbelt violation at the 700 block of Hwy. 98 led to the arrest (Notice to Appear) of the Gulf Breeze driver on two misdemeanors. The driver, Amber Carr, 23, was charged with Possession of Marijuana (Under 20 Grams) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Friday, April 28

At the Neighborhood Walmart, there was a report of a vehicle burglary. An individual left their iPhone in a car and it was taken from the vehicle.

Monday, May 1

On the Pensacola Bay Bridge, police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding at 7:10 a.m. The stop led to the arrest of the 33-year-old Gulf Breeze driver for Driving With a Suspended License. The suspect, Cristy Bodam, was arrested without incident.
Also on Monday, at the 2500 block of Hwy. 98, a traffic stop for a driver’s license violation led to the arrest of the Pensacola driver for Driving With a Suspended License. The driver, Samantha Sneed, 27, was apprehended without incident.

Tuesday, May 2

At the 100 block of Chanteclaire Circle, there was a report of criminal mischief. Someone started a fire in the yard debris bins at the end of the driveway of the home.

Wednesday, May 3

At the 100 block of Shoreline Drive, a traffic stop for failure to stop at a red flashing light led to the arrest of both the driver and the passenger of the vehicle. The driver, Garrett Thomas, 19, of Gulf Breeze, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana (Over 20 Grams), Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana (Under 20 Grams) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The passenger, a juvenile, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana (Over 20 Grams), Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana (Under 20 Grams), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Forged/Counterfeit U.S. Currency. Both of the men were arrested after the traffic stop, which occurred at 11:29 p.m.

Thursday, May 4

At the 200 block of Fairpoint Drive, there was a report of a found bicycle.

Friday, May 5

At the 1000 block of Hwy. 98 there was a fraud report.

Sunday, May 7

At Shoreline Park South, there was a report of a submerged vehicle. Upon investigating the complaint, the driver of the vehicle, a Pace man, was apprehended for an outstanding warrant out of Escambia County at 12:23 p.m. The suspect, Andrew Gormley, 48, was arrested without incident.
Also on Sunday, at the Quality Inn, there was a report of a trespassing after a warning.

Monday, May 8

At the 70 block of Nightengale Lane, there was a report of a stolen tag from a vehicle.
At Gulf Breeze Middle School, there was a report of trespassing. The homeless trespasser, Stephen Couppee, 68, was arrested without incident for Trespassing at 1:02 p.m.
Also on Monday, on the Pensacola Bay Bridge, GBPD conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding. The stop ultimately led to the arrest of the driver (Notice to Appear) on drug charges at 6:52 p.m. The driver, Marcus Crenshaw, 24, of Pensacola, was ultimately charged with Possession of Marijuana (Under 20 Grams) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and sent on his way.
At the 200 block of Hwy. 98, a traffic stop for a seatbelt violation led to the arrest of the vehicle owner on drug charges at 8:55 p.m. The Pensacola woman, Tiah Washington, 26, was ultimately charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Without a Prescription and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

This past week, GBPS made a total of 122 traffic stops. Fifty-five of those stops resulted in citations, while the other 67 resulted in warnings.
There were two reported wrecks in the city limits with injury. There were 14 total wrecks reported in the city limits without injury. There was also one reported hit and run.
The department had a total of 361 calls this past week.
