During the week of February 27, 2017 some of the best police dogs in America will travel to Navarre to participate in the United States Police Canine Association National Detector Dog Trials.
These highly skilled and expertly trained police dogs will be competing against one another as they are judged on their performances to seek out and find illegal drugs and explosive materials.
Currently the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office is looking for sponsorship to make this national event a huge success for both the police dogs and the local community.
“We as an agency and K9 unit look forward to sharing this experience with the community. We have intentions of making this event a huge success for the Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of Santa Rosa County,” said K9 Sgt. Roman Jackson with the SRSO.
The sheriff’s department is offering advertisement sales, which will be placed in the events guide and distributed to the officers and everyone who attends the public demonstration on the night of March 2, 2017. For more information and to help contribute to the event, contact Jackson at (850) 983-1219.
