Myrick “Brock” Hamilton is back in jail. He was booked April 21 for three charges after Tractor Supply Company in Navarre called police to report a retail theft in progress.
Hamilton’s arrest report stated he entered the store and took a generator valued at $588.49 through the outside sales area of the store and threw it over the fence into the parking lot, moving the item past all points of sale without paying for it.
The employee who called police reported seeing him run into the woods behind the store, where cops found him crouching and ducking down, attempting to crawl away through bushes.
Hamilton refused to comply with multiple verbal orders to exit the woods then after exiting the woods refused to lay on the ground as ordered by cops.
A small, cut plastic straw was located in his shorts’ pocket and contained a powder-like residue which field tested presumptive positive for Methamphetamine.
Booking information shows Hamilton, 47, residing at 8123 Molina Street in Navarre. He was charged with the following:
- First-degree misdemeanor count of larceny;
- First-degree misdemeanor count of resisting an officer without violence;
- First-degree misdemeanor count of drug equipment possession.
